Honor veterans labor on Labor Day

Honoring Veterans’ Labor on and off the Battlefield

This Labor Day, we honor the American worker and especially those whose labor began on distant shores under foreign flags in defense of freedom. Our Veterans of Foreign Wars organization knows that service doesn’t end when the battle does. It continues in the quiet work of rebuilding lives, strengthening communities, and mentoring the next generation.

From the trenches to the town halls, VFW members have always stood as pillars of leadership, resilience, and civic duty. You’ve carried the weight of war, and now you carry the torch of service, volunteering at food banks, organizing memorials, advocating for Veterans’ rights, and showing up wherever your community needs you most.

Labor Day reminds us that the strength of our nation lies not only in its workforce but in the character of those who serve it. VFW members exemplify that character, working not for recognition but for impact.

Today, we salute your continued labor. Your hands have built more than structures; they’ve built hope. Your voices have shaped more than policy; they’ve shaped legacy. Happy Labor Day to all who serve, and especially to our VFW comrades. Your work is far from over, and your example is timeless.
