Georgia veterans, families, and community supporters,
We are on the crust of what is looking like a storm unlike any we have observed in many years. While all indications are that this storm will make a direct hit on the Florida coast, it is really impossible to predict its eventual path. It appears that some of southern Georgia and the Georgia coast will experience tropical storm conditions. With that said, it is very important we are all prepared for the unpredictable.
I ask that you take care of yourself, take care of your family members, and look out for one another. I also ask that you consider the following:
- Be prepared for the unexpected
- Charge chargers and batteries
- Have flashlights and candles on hand
- Have at least a case of bottled water on hand
- Have an emergency first aid kit on hand
Once you ensure your safety, check in on your fellow veterans, family members, and community neighbors.
With 92 Posts spanning across the State of Georgia, Georgia VFW and Auxiliary stand ready to assist those affected in Georgia and Florida. Lastly, let us keep those in a direct path of Milton in your prayers. They will need all the help they can get!
To all of you and your families, be safe and stay safe. Georgia VFW will continue to do what we always do and do it best – “taking care of veterans, helping their families, and assist our communities!”
