Senator Kenya Wicks Named 2026 Georgia VFW Legislator of the Year
Georgia State Senator Kenya Wicks was honored as the inaugural recipient of the Georgia VFW Legislator of the Year Award during the VFW Department of Georgia State Convention on June 12, 2026. Recognized for her outstanding leadership on behalf of veterans and military families, Senator Wicks played a pivotal role in strengthening protections against unaccredited VA claims agents by helping amend House Bill 108 and introduced Senate Bill 236 to streamline school enrollment for military children transferring into Georgia.
Hats on the Hill 2026
On Wednesday, January 21, 2026, VFW Department of Georgia joins other veterans-focused advocates from across the State of Georgia to host the inaugural Hats on the Hill event. Held at Liberty Plaza, the event will provide a free opportunity to bring veterans, family members, and supporters together to discuss top concerns and legislative priorities of those Georgia residents who wore our nation’s uniform!
