Every November, American families gather together to celebrate Thanksgiving. This is a time for us to visit and fellowship with friends and relatives. Usually over a great meal consisting of turkey and many other goodies. I am sure you will all agree that this is a great time to spend fellowshipping with family and friends.
However, sometimes the real meaning of Thanksgiving is lost in all the other festivities. We as Americans have so much to be thankful for. Family, friends and the luxuries of life. Thanksgiving should be a time for us to reflect on all the things we are thankful for. Family, friends, health etc. And in doing so, let us not forget the freedom and great life we enjoy as citizens of this great country. We should not forget that the freedom we enjoy would not be possible if it were not for the brave men and women of our military.
As we gather around the table this year, let us give prayerful thanks to those who have defended and are defending this wonderful nation. And most of all. Let us not forget to give thanks to our Heavenly Father for His eternal love and protection.
