Georgia VFW Honors Black Veterans: Service. Sacrifice. Legacy.
During National Black History Month, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Department of Georgia, honors the service, sacrifice, and enduring legacy of Black Georgians who have defended our nation in every conflict. From the United States Colored Troops trained at Camp Saxton to the Tuskegee Airmen of World War II and generations of Black service members since, their courage and professionalism helped shape our military, advance equality within the ranks, and strengthen the freedoms we enjoy today.
